Follow up Doctor's Appointments

Blood test performed by OB's office on Monday, May 3
hCG/beta test was 3245!

First doctor's appointment on Thursday, May 6. Confirmed PG with urine test. Ultrasound showed a healthy gestantional sac with a yolk. Measuring just right at 5w3d.

Second doctor's appointment on Wednesday, May 19. Follow up ultrasound showed perfect sac with fetal pole and heartbeat! Measuring 7w0d.

Doctor's appointment on Thursday, June 17. Everything's looking good! Unable to find heartbeat with doppler, but doctor wasn't concerned. Gained 3 pounds so far.

Doctor's appointment on Friday, July 16. Found heartbeat on doppler, but proved a challenge with wiggly baby! Had blood taken for Quad Screen.

Ultrasound appointment on Friday, August 6. Spent 45 minutes with the tech trying to get stubborn baby to move enough to photograph all his/her vital organs. No surprise s/he's stubborn with parents like Pam and Gabe! Got several great ultrasound pictures to take home.

Regular Doctor's appointment on Thursday, August 12. All the bloodwork results and ultrasound pictures showed the baby is perfect!

Regular Doctor's appointment on Thursday, September 9. Pam is up 20 lbs to 144 lbs! Blood pressure is great and tummy is measuring perfectly.

One hour Glucose Challenge Test on September 23. Failed, unfortunately. Going back for 3 hour Glucose Tolerance Test on October 8.

Three hour Glucose Tolerance Test and a check up on October 8. Blood pressure and baby sounds are good. Tummy measuring good and Pam is up to a crazy 152 lbs!

Failed the 3 hour Glucose Tolerance Test. Got the results on October 19. Put on a strict diet and checking bood sugar 4 times a day. Anything to keep baby healthy.

Regular doctor's appointment on November 5. Weight was good at 153. Everything's looking perfect. Scheduled an ultrasound in 2 weeks to check on the baby's size and position.

Regular doctor's appointment and ultrasound on November 18. Pam's weight is holding steady at 152, and BP and tummy measuring great. Ultrasound showed a happy baby BOY weighing approximately 5lb, 5oz already!

Yikes! We had a scare! On November 28, Pam started having contractions, so we went to the hospital to get checked out. They were pretty severe and 2 minutes apart! The doctor did an exam, and since Pam wasn't dilating (and she was only 35 weeks along), they gave her some shots to stop the contractions, and put her on modified bedrest. They also took her out of work for at least 10 days (37 weeks). But baby was happy and active and looking great.

Regular OB's office visit for ultrasound on November 29. Baby is active and looking great.

High risk OB ultrasound appointment on November 30. Got to see great pictures of the little one! He's up to approximately 6lb, 6oz and a very active, happy baby.

Regular OB apppointment on December 2. Had the first non-stress test (NST) and it was "textbook perfect". Baby's heart rate is great and he's moving around like crazy. OB appointment went well too - Pam's holding at 152 lbs! Unfortunately, baby is so happy in there, Pam is still not dilating or thinning out yet.

Another OB appointment on December 8. Doctor has taken Pam out of work for the rest of her pregnancy. Everything's looking good - still no progress, but another great NST.

Ultrasound/Biophysical profile on December 10. Quick appointment, but everything is still looking good.

OB appointment and NST on December 14. NST was perfect again. Internal exam again showed little progress, so the doctor scheduled an induction! We'll be heading to the hospital on December 21 at 7:30 PM and Pam will be induced.

Plans changed! Pam went into labor around 6:30 PM on Thursday, December 16th. The baby arrived via c-section early on the morning of Friday, December 17th. Click here for the entire birth story.
